What messages will I receive?

When you verify your phone number, BrightKeep may send you text messages for:

  • Document processing confirmations — letting you know when a document you sent has been processed and organized
  • Expiring document reminders — alerts when IDs, insurance policies, or other documents are approaching their expiration date
  • Smart reminders — timely notifications about upcoming renewals, appointments, or tasks
  • Daily digests — a summary of upcoming tasks and reminders (if you enable digests in settings)
  • Document delivery — when you ask the assistant to text you a document

Message frequency is typically 1–3 messages per week, depending on your account activity and notification preferences.

How to opt in

SMS notifications require phone verification. When you verify your phone number with a one-time code, you consent to receive text messages from BrightKeep. Full A2P disclosure text (message types, frequency, rates, STOP/HELP instructions, and links to our Terms and Privacy Policy) is displayed before you can verify.

There are two moments where you can verify:

  1. During account onboarding— after entering your phone number, you’ll be asked to verify it by entering a 6-digit code sent via text. You can tap “Skip” to continue without verifying.
  2. In account settings — if you skipped verification during onboarding, or if you change your phone number, you can verify at any time from Settings → Profile (directly below the phone number field).

You can also text a photo of a document to our number at any time — sending us an inbound message constitutes implicit consent.

Below are the two verification screens as they appear in the BrightKeep app. Both display the full consent disclosure before the user can verify their phone.

How to opt out

You can stop SMS notifications at any time by:

  • Replying STOP to any BrightKeep text message
  • Changing your phone number in Settings (resets verification and stops all outbound SMS until re-verified)

After opting out, you will receive a one-time confirmation message. You can re-enable SMS at any time by verifying your phone number again in Settings or replying START.

BrightKeep SMS messages are sent from +1 (866) 993-6626. Save this number to your contacts to ensure messages are delivered reliably.
